Garbage Gala fashion benefit wrap-up

I successfully completed the Garbage Gala fashion benefit, which was a great experience, and for a great cause (awareness to homelessness).  I had a lot of fun, and it’s nice to be involved in anything fashion related.  I didn’t win, but that didn’t matter to me.  I had made a commitment, and was happy that I followed through, and I faced a project that I had never attempted before — Men’s apparel design.  Have to say, not bad for my first time! I got a great crowd reaction from my bright yellow hand prints on my model’s backside, and it was amazing to hear the MC say: “Designed by Michelle Vargas, designer and owner of Cargo Train Apparel”

That was by far my favorite part of the night!  Such an amazing feeling to see this company coming to life….all from one…..single…..idea.

Ill keep you posted!

A Special Thank You

We all have those who move us, inspire us, & make us strive for the things we want most.  I know personally, I have hundreds of people who do this for me every day.  One person in particular was a major inspiration to me, and I wanted you all to know who she is.

Her name was Jamie.

She befriended me when most wouldn’t.  She saw me for me, and never judged me once.

She gave me a very precious gift…..hope. For that, I say……Thank you!

In memory of: Jamie Lynn Pagano 1987-2001 ():-)

“It’s really a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.”  ―    Anne Frank

Insomnia – The Good Kind

I CAN’T SLEEP.  Most of the time I would be getting pissed right about now, complaining about a day that hasn’t happened yet, however, some of my insomnia nights are very beneficial to me.  I can’t sleep because I have millions of idea running through my head, and can’t seem to shut them off. So as I know one way to suppress them, is to write.

Now I understand why one of my lead  adviser told me to keep a pen and paper near by me at all times.  A Laptop will have to suffice.

ANYWAY….

I literally dream and visualize my entire company.  I see my company having multiple stores, and I know exactly how I would accomplish that. My strategies and how they would make me unique in the industry.  I can see the steps that I have to take to get exactly where I want my company to be. I know what I will have to sacrifice, but keeping myself focused on the ultimate goal doesn’t make them feel like sacrifices simply because; my company is worth it.  I honestly can’t visualize myself doing anything else for the next 20-35 years.  This is it.

If I can cross paths with a handful of other people that share my intensity for business and fashion.  This company would dominate the St.Louis-Midwest region.  Finding others like myself is proving to be a little more difficult than I imagined, but I know they are out there.  Just a matter of time.  So until then,  I will keep building what I can to get myself closer to where I want to be.

Ultimate goal:  Be the leading branded chain-resale merchandise provider within a 50 mile radius of St. Louis.  (Give Plato’s Closet some healthy competition)

BRING IT ON!

Letter

Dear future me,

CONGRATULATIONS! On the launch of your life-long dream and without a doubt the biggest goal you have ever fought for. Your hard work is paying off, and you are now walking towards a brand new life without the abuse, and the physical pain you were so familiar with in the past. You are no longer that lost, beaten, and broken little girl that you used to be. That little girl has finally been laid to rest. Your life has taken such drastic turns that has lead you to this moment, and I am so proud that you NEVER GAVE UP!

You have encountered so many close-calls, and you survived. This should tell you every single day of your life that you will always overcome what hurts or scares you the most. You are stronger than what you were before, you are wiser, and now you have a solid path to follow that will make it easier to reach the future goals you have planned for yourself, your family, and those around you.

Due to the hard work and sacrifices to get where you are, Maddy will never know what it is like to go without food, shelter, and other basic necessities. She will never walk into a dark house from not having electricity, she will never have to risk her health simply because you can’t afford to take her to the doctor. She WILL have the opportunity to attend college without worry if she will be able to afford her tuition, and she WILL live the life that you always had planned for her, most importantly, she WILL have you to look up to for guidance when she begins to embark on her own journeys. Enjoy it, treasure it, be grateful for the opportunity, and always PAY IT FORWARD to others. Create opportunities for those who hold your passion and ambition; teaching them that the world is theirs for the taking, if you want it bad enough.

Remember that this is just the beginning of a new life. The life you would write out so vividly in your journals when you were at your darkest times, buy the fake palm trees you had always wanted since you were little, and share your experiences and trials with as many people that will listen.

Now go out, and do what you were placed on this earth to do: work hard for want you want, become a voice that inspires others to become great, be the example that you looked up too for so long, and never let your nay-sayers win….EVER!!!

I look forward to writing another future letter to you in July 2nd, 2018. Keep it up!
